Brighton & Hove Pride turns 35 this year, and the city is marking it with its biggest line-up yet. Chart-topping sensation RAYE headlines Saturday, fresh from her No.1 single and record-breaking six BRIT Awards. Then, in a UK live show exclusive, the legendary Diana Ross closes the weekend on Sunday with a career-spanning set. Expect "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", "I'm Coming Out", and one of the most memorable moments in Brighton Pride history.
The main stage also features Jessie J, Self Esteem, Leigh-Anne, FIVE, Holly Johnson, and Paris Hilton across the weekend, with RuPaul and Mel C on DJ duties.
The much-loved LGBTQ+ Community Parade kickstarts the weekend under this year's theme, "The Power Of Love", winding through the city centre before the party moves to Preston Park, St James's Street, and Kemptown.

Brighton's flagship racing event returns with three days of flat racing high on the Downs, with sweeping views over the city and sea. Wednesday's Festival Opener features the prestigious Brighton Mile Challenge, one of the highlight races of the Brighton calendar. Thursday is Ladies Day, the most glamorous date on the local sporting calendar, and Friday brings the Festival Finale.

Indie legends The Wedding Present bring four decades of beloved songs to Brighton's best-loved seafront venue. David Gedge's band has a fiercely devoted following, and Concorde 2's intimate size makes this a much closer encounter than their festival appearances. A perfect Friday night city-break anchor.
Brighton Ska Train: August Bank Holiday Weekender

Concorde 2's annual Ska Train weekender closes the month with ska, reggae, and two-tone classics over the bank holiday. Expect an all-ages crowd, sharp dressing, and a dance floor that does not stop.

Brighton's much-loved open-air amphitheatre hits its stride in August, with theatre, comedy, music, and drag under the summer sky. For families in the school holidays, the standouts are The Tale of Peter Rabbit (15th - 16th August) and Pinocchio on bank holiday Monday, 31st August.
BOAT's grass-terraced bowl in Dyke Road Park is one of Brighton's loveliest venues: bring a picnic, a blanket, and something warm for after sunset.
Insider Tip: Evening shows are magical but the temperature drops fast once the sun goes down, even in August. Arrive 45 minutes early for the best picnic spots on the upper terraces.
August is Brighton at full volume: beach days, beach bars, and long evenings made for eating outside.
Riddle & Finns on the Beach - Champagne and oysters with the sea a few metres away. Book a window seat for sunset; there are few better dinner views in the city.
Burnt Orange (The Lanes) - The courtyard comes into its own in August. Wood-fired Mediterranean sharing plates and excellent cocktails in one of Brighton's prettiest outdoor spaces.
The Salt Room (seafront) - Their terrace facing the i360 is prime alfresco territory for seafood and people-watching.
Rockwater (Hove seafront) - Rooftop dining and drinks with uninterrupted sea views. Worth the walk along the prom into Hove.
Insider Tip: On hot weekends the beach between the piers is packed by 11am. Head west past the West Pier ruins towards Hove Lawns for more space, calmer swimming, and easier café access.
